Hong Kong is a bustling city with changes happen almost every single second. While there are people who appreciate traditional Hong Kong dim sum, the youngsters are always eager to experience something new.
And that's where the brainchild of three talented chefs was born!
Social Place is a contemporary Chinese dim-sum place which is chic, vibrant and cozy altogether. Besides the Hong Kong staple food- dim sum, they also serve a variety of Chinese and fusion dishes using only fresh and high quality ingredients. Don't be surprised to see a ping pong table right at the center of the restaurant as it is intentionally placed there to provide patrons some entertainment during gathering or just any casual dining events while savoring delicious Chinese dishes paired with a glass of wine or locally brewed beer.

The perfect combination of both modern and vintage, Chinese and Old English design made the entire premise such a pleasure to see and to be in.
Restaurant was also really spacious compared to many other typical HK restaurant so we really appreciate the extra privacy we were getting!
This cute little bowl with ants on it got me mad thinking there were ants on the plate. Haha!
Spiced ginger pork knuckle
This dish had an interesting texture, if you don't like anything soft you probably wouldn't like it.
But I personally quite enjoy the semi soft and tendon-y texture of pork knuckle, paired with the delicious salty and slightly spicy sauce!
Dim Sum Platter
I tried the squid ink siew long pau amongst the bunch and I loved it.
The soup had a distinguished aroma to it, which I really like.
The meat filling was fresh and tender too!
Loved it!
Pork Bun
It was as delicious as pork buns could be!
Slightly sweet but absolutely savoury fatty pork belly was juicy and it melts on your tongue!
I would eat 2 more of this if it wasn't so fatty 😲😲😲
Signature Chicken Soup in Young Coconut
This dish was definitely the winner of the night!
Albeit clear looking, the soup packed a punch!
It was so full of flavours and the young coconut which held the soup added so much sweetness to the soup!
Signature Roasted White King Pigeon
It was our first time eating roasted pigeon so we were quite excited.
But in our honest opinion, the taste and texture is very much akin to that of a duck,
but so muchhhhh oilierrrr!
We were also told that pigeon is very heaty, so eat in moderation!

Squid Ink Risotto with Baby Octopus and Prawns
This was definitely D's fave out of all.
Squid ink has a unique taste which is a little salty, but a little seafood-esque.
But overall it gave the risotto a very creamy texture and it's delicious!
French Bean with Spicy XO sauce
French bean was fresh and crunchy, but we thought it's a little too oily for our liking!
Pork and Shrimp Dumpling in Clear Soup
I think this dish was the commonest food of all.
It tasted just like any other dumpling soup we have back here in Malaysia,
I wouldn't recommend.
Fried Calamari
This was again, way too oily to me.
Did not enjoy it.
