Dessert in KL : Croissant Taiyaki @ Pavilion

If you're a fan of croissant, you should look this way!
The most interesting Asian meets West fusion is now in Kuala Lumpur!

Taiyaki is a popular Japanese dessert where a fish-shaped "eggette" sort of pancake is filled with matcha paste.
The recent craze revolving Taiyaki has been taiyaki filled with ice cream.

But! The opening of Croissant Taiyaki was sure to top all the other taiyaki in the market, well, at least for me.

Located at the basement of Pavillion where the food court is, this place is easy to overlook as it is secluded in the quiet corner of the intersection between Pavilion Elite and Pavilion Shopping Mall.

The team behind these croissant taiyaki's were absolutely meticulous.
I've seen them tossing away all the imperfect pastry crust aka the fish-shaped croissant into the bin.

And all the pastries displayed look absolutely golden.

We got our taiyaki within 30 minutes of ordering.

Fresh fillings were pumped in between the croissant pastry crusts upon ordering.
We opted for Custard, Matcha and Red Bean.

Out of all the flavours we have tried, I'd say custard flavour was the best, but then again, they were all equally delicious, perhaps the custard one suited more to our western skepticism towards this dessert.

Matcha was extremely creamy and milky, not to mention, they were extremely generous with their fillings too. So make sure to snag a few more serviettes upon receiving your order and be prepared for an absolutely delicious fillings explosion in your mouth.

Do note though, they are all pretty sweet, as the croissant was glazed with sugar.
But it's definitely stress relieving to enjoy this absolute sweetness once in a while.
