Sheesh Mahal @ SS15- North Indian Cuisine

It was "baby-sitting" kinda Saturday night,
where D had a task- to bring the sisters our for dinner.

D knows how much of a foodie I am, and my love for exploring new places and trying out new cuisine, so he brought to try out North Indian/ Pakistani cuisine,
something that I never thought I would try out,
or well,
never had the courage to try out.

Super awesome because D's sister was driving and we got to hang out at the back. Haha!

A staff with full suit is always standing in front of the door,
to greet you and usher you into the restaurant.

I was expecting a lot of indian faces when I enter the restaurant,
to my utter consternation,
most of the customers were Chinese!
And this holds true even during our second visit!

These two which we are "baby-sitting". :P

Extensive menu covering everything you are craving for,
starters, main course, they even have  vegetarian menu!
And of course desserts!
Heard their desserts is a must try,
but we being super wise in controlling sugar intake,
didn't try out their desserts.

I love a restaurant with complimentary water and snacks! :P
Super awesomeeeeee especially the complimentary drinking water.
Us human shouldn't be violated on our basic right to drink water. :'(
By the way, pappadum and mint chutney was very addicting.
And what made it better was that,
it's bottomless.
So just keep asking for more. :P

Mango Lassi which D is a huge fan of.
He loves it!

We ordered quite a bit of food!

Chicken Tandoori (Half)
Chicken marinated in spicy yogurt with special spices, herb and grilled in tandoor.

 Lamb Shahi Special
Tender lamb cubes sautéed with onion, garlic and cooked with freshly ground herbs.

Garlic Naan and Butter Naan.
Guess whatttttt...
This was my first time eating Naan. I know right. Am I even a Malaysian.
But I LOVE IT!!!
Owing to the fact that I am a huge bread lover,
I love these Naan the moment I tasted them.
Soft at the centre, rather crispy on the edges,
and the strong strong strong garlic taste!
It was delicious!

Chicken Karahi
Chicken cooked with ginger, green chili and tomatoes in deep iron pan. Sheesh Mahal specialty.

D and I had also changed our wallpaper to be matching! <3

And we went back just about a fortnight later for another feasting, this time with D's family.

 Sizzling yoghurt Tandoori
Sizzlinggggggg foooodddd!
The smoke kept coming over to my side,
and just by the smell of the dish,
I knew it would be great!
And indeed, it tasted as good as it smelled.
Mildly spicy with a tinge of sweetness.

 Korma Chicken
D told me Korma means butter!
And you could also probably tell by the look of it that it looks buttery!
The chicken is cooked with...
Cashew nuts and raisins!
I love cashew nuts in food! I love a bit of crunch and its fragrance just go well with food.
And the raisins added a hint of sweetness to the chicken too!

Lamb Rogan Josh
Lamb cubes cooked in yogurt based curry with a touch of coriander seeds.

Lamb Briyani
Which turned out to be everyone's favourite.
So basically you can't go wrong with all the lamb dishes! :P
Rice was fragrant,
lamb was tender,
they were a great combination!

Basket of Naan
Garlic, butter and plain naan mixed in a basket.
Need I say moreeeee!! They all tasted really good!
Except for the one with coriander,
I despise coriander. :P

I love their food and love their service! Price though it is slightly slightly pricey, but I guess that's the price you have to pay for good service and good food. :P

Sheesh Mahal. Fine Pakistani cuisine.
