This was so 2016, lol, but we have taken some nice photos so I thought it wouldn't do me any harm to just put them down in a post!
So some time back in 2016, one fine weekend in the month of June, D and I were both feeling adventurous. So we both got dressed up and brought our camera out.
We were excited to try out something new in Bangsar that we haven't tried before.
I have done a little research beforehand, so I was feeling really hopeful.
We picked Matsuya for lunch. This restaurant looked absolutely adorbs from the outside, so we thought we may have been able to add a new Japanese cuisine post into the blog.
But as soon as we stepped inside, we knew we would definitely leave this place with exploding regrets in our hearts and we'd be in contrition for a couple of hours.
We ordered a salmon don.
And some claypot udon.
As much as I'd like to only focus on the good things, we were both really disappointed by the super small portion of the salmon don. The hefty price tag also left us in horror too!
The salmon sashimis weren't the freshest despite being expensive,
and the udon was just another mediocre dish.
I would have easily filled my tummy with the same amount of money in Rakuzen.
Just because we were so unhappy with the lunch we have had, and obviously, were still feeling hungry after spending a fortune there, we decided to eat some desserts!
I came to The Daily Grind two years back for their classic waffle and to date, I still think The Daily Grind serves one of the best classic waffle!
Not only they serve delicious food at a reasonable price point, they have some of the cutest retro decor too!
Banoffle (priced around the RM20 mark).
Just like I have expected, The Daily Grind would not disappoint!
The huge waffles sandwiches generous amount of banana mixed with the extra smooth banoffee cream,
with just the right amount of chocolate drizzle over the waffles,
this waffle is delicious on its own,
or with a sweep of your choice of chocolate or vanilla ice cream (came together),
or amp up the sugar level with the maple syrup which came in the cutest little jar.
This was definitely the highlight of our day!
