Gentle AHA BHA Exfoliating Mask - ALTHEA MILK PEEL CREAM MASK review

Nothing gives an improvement on overall skin's brightness and skin texture as instantly as exfoliators do.
When my skin were feeling particularly congested, lacklustre and scaly,
I know a good scrub would eliminate all these problems all at one go.

Whether you're a dry skin gal or an oily skin gal,
one should never skip exfoliation.
I am sure many acne sufferers have been encouraged not to scrub your skin at all,
for fear that manually scrubbing your skin with harsh beads or bits may actually enhance the spreading of bacteria and leads to more acne formation.
Manually scrubbing your skin, and if too harshly, may also strip your skin off the protective barrier and induce inflammation, both of which are bad for sensitive and acne-prone skin people.

But then again, we have all heard about how acne formed due to the accumulation of dead skin cells that clog up the pores.

So now, the critical question is:
How do I get rid of dead skin cells without causing irritation?

The solution is:
CHEMICAL EXFOLIANTS!

Chemical exfoliators uses low-percentages of gentle acids to dissolve dead skin cells on your face to enhance new cells turn over, thereby revealing smoother and brighter skin.
It serves as a great option for people with sensitive skin, because chances of over-scrubbing your face are pretty low if you stick to the indicated weekly usage.

And my current favourite gentle but highly effective chemical exfoliator is
Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask

To put it briefly, the Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask is a clay mask and chemical exfoliator in one!
It is formulated with AHA and BHA (AHA- to slough off dead skin cells from the surface; while BHA penetrates into the pores to clear out the gunk); and Kaolin which is known for its excellent ability at drawing impurities to the surface of the skin.
If all of these ingredients sound like they're too harsh on your skin, Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask is also formulated with Casein protein from milk to condition the skin by providing moisture and protect the skin barrier.

This product comes in the most convenient pump bottle which not only helps control the amount to use each time, but also to ensure that the rest of the products remain fresh and protected until they were pumped out. I also especially love that it's made from plastic, making this product absolutely safe for traveling and I don't have to be extra careful when handling the bottle.

Upon dispensing, Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask has a white, clay-like texture that is creamy but slightly firmer but extremely malleable. When it comes in contact with damp skin, it transforms into a whipped cream lather which continues to foam up until it is ready to be rinsed off.
I thoroughly enjoy listening to the sound of the clay bubble up on my skin,
as if it's telling me they are doing their best to pull out all the gunk from the deepest layer of my pores.
Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask also has a soft and comfortable scent that does not linger,
if anything it only enhanced the application experience.

This product may seem like it's difficult to use but it's absolutely simple and time-effective.
After cleansing, leave the skin damp.
To cover all over the face, I dispense two pumps onto dry fingers.
Apply the products all over the skin and massage it gently until it starts to foam up.
Let the mask bubble up further for 30-60 seconds before rinsing it off with warm water.

And now it's time for my verdict.
Most AHA and BHA face masks I have tried in the past gives a tingling sensation as soon as they were applied, some stronger products had even left my skin with a burnt mark.
But with Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask, neither had I experienced any tingling sensation nor had it caused any irritation on my skin at all.
No red marks were seen on my skin after rinsing it off.
I could also vouch for its skin conditioning property despite being a deep cleansing mask as it didn't leave my skin feeling tight after rinsing.
With just as little as 60 seconds (that's how long I prefer to leave it on), my skin revealed a youthful glow.
My skin is immediately smoother to the touch, and pores appeared cleaner and smaller, high points of my skin were glowing and my white and blackheads were substantially reduced.
When applied on under-the-skin-acne, it also has the ability to either sooth them or bring them to a head where it is ready to be cleaned.
Using it once a week has also reduced breakouts massively.
I have been struggling with some hormonal breakouts lately and it is almost impossible to soothe those big under the skin bump, but using this once (sometimes even twice a week, only when I am breaking out), has helped vastly in reducing the size of the under the skin acne and prevent formation of new acne.
I also love how it rinses off so easily in comparison to ordinary clay masks
and the best part is,
this mask takes no time at all and it is absolutely friendly to the wallet!

I highly recommend everyone to try out this product regardless of your skin type!
